How To Have A Great Smile
A Dental Health Webquest for First Grade
By Lisa Maynes

Question:
What are we going to learn about on this webquest?
  Answer:
In this webquest, you are going to learn about the four
things need to do to have a great, healthy smile.
You will also see what can happen to your teeth
when you don't take care of them.
When you are done, you will write a
letter to the toothfairy
and tell her what you will do
to make sure you have good teeth to
leave under your pillow.
Let's get started!

There are 4 things you need to do to have a great, healthy smile!

       1. Brush your teeth

       2..  See a dentist.

     3. Floss.

4.  Eat good, healthy food.

What happens to teeth when you don't take care of them?

 Would the toothfairy like to
get teeth like this?

Now that you have learned about what you need to do to take care of your teeth and what can happen if you don't, write a letter to the toothfairy .  In this letter, you need to tell her what you are going to do to make
sure the teeth she gets are good ones!

Directions:  Write your letter to the toothfairy
When you are done, show it to your teacher
so she can send it for you.  You can also print
it out so that you can take it home and show
 someone special what you did!
*Note to teacher:  For this activity, you will need to
put an email address before you send it.  Doing this will
allow the children to receive a reply from the toothfairy!

for children older than first grade and/or students
